Member Volunteer of the Year Award
BECU.org
posted Jan 03, 2005

BECU is delighted to announce Paul Williams as our Member Volunteer of the Year for his work with the non-profit organization, Tape Ministries Northwest. Since 1981, the South Seattle-based organization has loaned thousands of books on tape to people who cannot read, due to blindness, dyslexia and other disabilities. In 2003 alone, Tape Ministries loaned over 11,000 books on tape throughout the U.S. and Canada. Their services are free.

BECU President Gary Oakland presented Paul with a $2,500 check for Tape Ministries Northwest at a special ceremony on International Credit Union Day, October 21. Paul has volunteered over 650 hours as the organization's technology and production manager, doing everything from installing computer networks to developing a barcode system for book lending and more. His efforts embody the spirit of volunteerism and service. We honor his dedication and congratulate him on this achievement.
