Become a Narrator

“Tape Ministries NW was founded by friends at a Bible study who volunteered to record Christian books for a blind friend.  Today, volunteers are still recording Christian books, and you can do it too!

Narrators should set aside a minimum of two hours per week to read.  (An average book takes about three months on this schedule).   Read about the two options below, and if you are still interested, call us at 206-243-7377 or email us at info@tapeministries.org.

Option 1: Record at Tape Ministries NW

This is the recommended option for those who live in the Seattle area and want to read.  By coming in for a couple hours each week, you will be able to use our recording studio and work directly with our staff.  While most recording takes place during our business hours, this is not always a requirement.

Option 2: Record on your computer at home

This option is available for people who would like to read for Tape Ministries NW but for whom our office in Seattle is not conveniently located.  Here is what you need to record books on your computer:

  • A commitment to coordinate with Tape Ministries NW regarding book formats, book selection, etc.
  • A computer equipped for quality digital audio recording (for more details, click here)
  • A quiet space.  It doesn’t have to be soundproof, but it does need to be free of distractions such as barking dogs, cuckoo clocks, flushing toilets, and other sounds many of us take for granted.”

If you would like to explore the possibility of becoming a narrator, please contact us. We can answer your questions and send you more information.
