Joyce enjoys the company of books

Life changed for Joyce three years ago when two strokes and chronic illness left her in a wheelchair with a "mixed bag of ailments." She’s now homebound and unable to go to work or attend church.

"The books are company in the quiet times when everyone is gone. It’s like someone is here, but no one is.

I’m still learning to accept my situation, and the books help take my mind off my troubles and lift my spirits."

Joyce enjoys Our Daily Bread and a variety of books, but says, "I don’t like the romances – they all end up the same way."
