Mary enjoys Jesus-centered books
Mary’s parents worked in vaudeville. Her dad was a pianist and Mom a dancer. Sadly, they both died when she was little, and she was raised by her grandmother and then in foster homes. Mary remembers, "At one time I attended a boarding school in Santa Barbara. The sisters were good to me. I’ve had a good life." Since 1989 Mary has lived by herself in a HUD building in San Francisco. She says, “My grandmother taught me to be independent." She takes the bus every week to attend Mass, and says, "I think all Christian churches are good but I like the Catholic Church very much." Mary has a rare eye disease and uses a white cane when she walks out-side, but she can read some large print. Mary says, "I think Tape Ministries is just wonderful. I’ve been receiving books for over five years, and I enjoy everything they have. All their books are very Jesus centered, which is so important in our world today. "Once I start a book, I can listen for hours!"
